VRSG

VRSG supply you with the best

Innovation, functionality and cost-effectiveness.Preferred supplier tothe prison and secure accommodation sector.  These are just some of the reasons why VRSG choose to compliment our high quality anti-ligature sanitaryware with the Douglas Delabie sanitary fittings.

Anti-vandal / Anti-ligature & Blocking
Both VRSG and Douglas Delabie's designers and engineers are constantly working to help our customers to combat vandalism or incidents of self-harm by innovating and refining products to meet the rigours and requirements of a secure accommodation washroom.

All the fittings are designed with durability and robustness in mind, with a hard-wearing chrome-plated or stainless steel finish that resists damage. Their reinforced fixings and shock-proof mechanisms can stand up to 500,000 operations and have a host of increased safety features, such as recessed ligature-free fixings and anti-blocking devices, which only allow taps to work after the push button is released.

♦ BREEAM

Effective water management makes a significant contribution to meeting BREEAM’s environmental assessment initiative, which enables designers to improve a building’s green credentials.

Douglas Delabie is committed to providing its customers with energy efficient, cost-effective solutions that meet and exceed BREEAM’s exacting standards.

BREEAM credits are awarded to encourage the use of low water usage fittings. Compliance requirements include:

Electronic First Credit:

  • All WCs have an effective flush volume of 4.5 litres or less
  • When dual flush WCs are specified, user guidance or symbols must be visible on the product or cistern

Second Credit:
Awarded for either of the following:

  • All WCs have an effective flush volume of 3 litres or less
  • All WCs are compliant with the requirements for the first credit and fitted with a delayed action inlet valve

Third and Fourth credit:
Awarded for the two that offer the greatest possible reduction in annual water consumption:

  • All taps except kitchen taps, cleaners’ sinks and external taps have a maximum flow rate of less than 6 litres per minute at 3-bar pressure. This can be a combination of the following types:
    • Timed automatic shut-off taps, e.g. push taps
    • Electronic sensor taps
    • Low flow screw-down/lever taps
    • Showers that have a maximum flow rate of 9 litres per minute at 3-bar pressure
    • All urinals that are fitted with individual presence detectors that operate the flushing control after each use

A volume controller – an automatic control device to turn off the water supply once the maximum preset volume is reached within a defined period.

For assessments of a secure healthcare unit, the flushing control must be suitable for operation by patients with frail or infirm hands, or activated by electronic sensors.

Rainwater harvesting:
Further BREEAM credits are available for rainwater harvesting - the Douglas Delabie TMV manifold is available with a non-potable manifold for use with WC cisterns or direct flush valves.
